Whisker Litter-Robot EVO (LRE-0301) troubleshooting
8 problems the manual covers, with the cause and the fix it gives.
This is a rotating globe box. The steps below are the manufacturer's own; if a step involves opening the unit, check the warranty first.
Light blinks red, robot stops cycling
Why: The waste drawer is full (Drawer Full Indicator).
What to do: Empty the drawer, then press Cancel to clear the alert and zero the weight sensors.1
False 'drawer full' red light
Why: The liner rides up past the drawer sides, or a dark bag / white or translucent litter confuses the light sensor.
What to do: Push the bag down below the rim, use a white bag, avoid translucent/white litter.1
Light blinks red, no automatic cycle
Why: The waste drawer has been removed or is not detected.
What to do: Reinstall the drawer, press Cancel, then Cycle to resume.1
Globe stops and backs up during a cycle
Why: An obstruction near the chute pinch bars, or the globe is jammed/overloaded.
What to do: Unit retries itself; after three failures it stays red: power off, remove bonnet and globe, check gears, do not overfill litter.1
Globe will not rotate
Why: The bonnet is not installed or latched.
What to do: Reseat the bonnet until it latches.1
Cat use not detected / no automatic cycle
Why: Weight sensors not zeroed after adding litter, emptying or moving the unit, or the cat weighs under 3 lb.
What to do: Press Cancel at Home position to zero the SmartScale; use semi-automatic mode for kittens.1
Light blinks yellow
Why: Attention needed: drawer almost full, filter due, or WiFi connection lost.
What to do: Check the display; the unit reconnects to WiFi automatically after an outage.1
Error not cleared by power cycling
Why: Firmware/electronics state.
What to do: Hard reset: unplug 10 s or hold Power 6 s; factory reset: hold Cycle + Cancel 3 s.1
